PC Racewear announced as Jog for Jockeys Sponsors 2014

Runners now have an added incentive to support this year’s Jog For Jockeys 5k and 10k races supporting the Irish Injured Jockeys Fund which takes place at the Curragh racecourse on Sunday 24 August, 2014. PC Racewear has joined Cox’s Cash and Carry and Cross’s Centra as an event sponsor, and will present prizes to the first three men and women across the line over both distances.

The first man and woman to cover the 5k and 10k events will win a stylish PC Racewear Kagoole. The newest item in the range, the Kagoole is a light weather proof smock, essential for the Irish weather. There will also be Kagooles for the winning boy and girl in the 5k event.

The runnersup in the 5k and 10k races will receive the very popular PC Racewear bodywarmer which is fleecelined and has a hidden hood, handy if you’re caught in a shower. A voucher for PC Racewear is on offer for the third place finishers.

Joules Lamb from PC Racewear said “We are delighted to be involved with Jog For Jockeys this year and to sponsor the prizes. As so many of our clients are jockeys or work in the racing industry, it is a great way for us to give a little back and support them.”

The now annual fundraiser was the brainchild of Audrey O’Dwyer and she reports that entries are well ahead of last year with the 10k race proving particularly popular and it is on course to be the biggest Jog For Jockeys since it became a onetrack event.

It costs €20 to enter online at www.jogforjockeys.ie which includes admission to racing at the Curragh that afternoon. All runners who preregister online will receive a race tshirt and regardless of distance, all participants will be provided with timing chips to record accurate race times.

Participants are asked to register online at www.jogforjockeys.ie. Sponsorship cards are also available online and from reception in Horse Racing Ireland at Ballymany, the Curragh, Co. Kildare.

Start time for 10km run is 11am and the 5km runners will begin at 11:20am.
